We are a family that takes pride in raising healthy axolotls for their future homes. We are based in Morgantown, West Virginia, and welcome local pickups.

Thank you for choosing Almost Heaven Axolotls! We are committed to raising healthy, well-started axolotls and providing a safe, smooth purchasing experience.

Payment & Shipping

Full payment is required before any animal is shipped.

All axolotls are shipped overnight for their safety.

Shipments are sent Monday through Wednesday only to avoid animals being delayed over the weekend.

Orders typically ship within 1–2 business days after payment is received.

Payments received Monday generally ship Tuesday or Wednesday.

Payments received Wednesday will usually ship the following Monday or Tuesday.

We cannot ship to P.O. Boxes. A valid physical address is required.

Live Arrival Guarantee

Your axolotl is guaranteed to arrive alive when delivered on the first delivery attempt.

If your axolotl does not arrive alive, you must:

Contact us within 1 hour of the recorded delivery time.

Provide a continuous video of at least 30 seconds showing the unopened shipping box being opened and the condition of the animal.

Once your claim has been reviewed, we will offer either:

A replacement axolotl (buyer is responsible for the new shipping cost), or

A refund for the purchase price of the animal.

Please note: The Live Arrival Guarantee is void if shipment delays are caused by weather, carrier delays beyond our control, an incorrect shipping address, or if someone is unavailable to receive the package.

Returns & Surrenders

Because these are live animals, we do not accept returns or issue refunds due to buyer's remorse or changes in circumstance.

If you are no longer able to care for your axolotl, we are happy to accept it back whenever possible. Return shipping and all associated costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

Local Pickup

We are happy to offer local pickup and scheduled visits for customers in our area.

How Our Axolotls Are Raised

Every axolotl is raised with careful attention to nutrition and water quality.

From birth, our babies are fed a variety of live foods including:

Baby brine shrimp (BBS)

Daphnia

Vinegar eels

Blackworms

As they grow, they are gradually transitioned to:

Chopped red wigglers

High-quality axolotl pellets

This feeding program promotes healthy growth, excellent body condition, and proper development.

Our husbandry standards include:

Water temperature maintained between 60–64°F

pH maintained between 7.0–7.4

Weekly 30% water changes

Fluval filtration systems

Our goal is to provide healthy, well-started axolotls that are ready to thrive in their new homes.

Legal Restrictions

We strictly follow all federal, state, and local laws regarding the ownership and shipment of axolotls. We cannot ship to locations where axolotl ownership or importation is prohibited or restricted without the required permits.

At the time of purchase, restrictions include:

Virginia (permit required or restricted)

Arkansas

It is the buyer's responsibility to verify that axolotl ownership is legal in their state, county, and municipality before placing an order. Orders placed in violation of local laws will be canceled.
